There’s something about turning nine that feels like a real milestone.
Not quite little anymore but not grown either. And when it came time to plan our daughter’s 9th birthday, she knew exactly what she wanted. No hesitation. No backup plan. She wanted to celebrate at Dreamworld—with her friends, the rides, and all the excitement that comes with it. When she told me, I was so relieved. I knew this would be such an easy party for me to organise, with the help of Dreamworld’s Party Package.
So that’s exactly what we did.
From the moment the party was booked, the countdown began. Every day brought new questions—what rides we would go on first, who would sit next to her, how many sleeps to go. She was buzzing, and honestly, so was I. I love children’s birthday parties!
There’s something incredibly special about seeing your child feel truly excited and seen on their birthday. I love to give them exactly what they want. This wasn’t just a party—it was her day, planned around what she loved most, with the people she loves most too!
When the day finally arrived, everything felt easy and relaxed—something which isn’t always the case when it comes to children’s birthday parties.
The Dreamworld Kids Party Package meant we weren’t juggling food, schedules, or trying to keep a group of kids entertained. It was all taken care of, which allowed us to actually be present. I could step back, watch her with her friends, and soak in the joy of the day instead of worrying about what needed to happen next.
The kids were in their element—laughing, running between rides, building confidence, and sharing those little moments that turn into big memories. Seeing her lead the group, confident and happy, was one of those quiet parenting moments that stays with you.
We started off with a few of the park’s most popular rides, before heading to Jane’s Rivertown Restaurant for lunch, where we enjoyed pizza, nuggets, chips, and unlimited soft drinks. I organised our own cake, which the restaurant presented Chloe with as we all sang her Happy Birthday.
The wonderful Dreamworld staff presented Chloe with a wonderful gift and a $20 voucher to spend at one of the many gift stores on the day.
Everything was seamless, and it was a wonderful time for us all.
Once everyone had filled their tummies, we headed back to the rides for some more thrills. I was blown away by Chloe’s confidence.
Here are some of our favourite rides at Dreamworld:
King Claw – A must-do. Big screams, big laughs, and that I can’t believe I did that feeling when it’s over.
Jungle Rush – Perfect for a mix of excitement and adventure without being too scary.
The Giant Drop – Not for everyone, but a huge confidence booster for kids who decide to give it a go.
Kenny & Belinda’s Dreamland rides – Great for a breather between big rides and still lots of fun for the kids.
Steel Taipan – This one was next level. Fast, thrilling, and such a confidence boost.
Sky Voyager – Such a beautiful experience. Calm but immersive, flying over Australia with the visuals and movement—it was a nice balance after the big adrenaline rides.
Reserved party table at Jane’s Rivertown Restaurant for one hour with your group.
Shared pizza party menu — ham pizza, chicken nuggets, chips and bottomless soft drinks for the kids.
Dreamworld Birthday Dollars for the birthday child ($20 to spend in-park).
Special birthday badge for your child to make their day extra special.
Single scoop ice cream voucher for each child to redeem at the restaurant, Ice Cream Parlour or within Whitewater World.
Digital party invitations ready to share with guests — great for keeping the group organised.
You’re welcome to bring your own cake (and Dreamworld will store it safely until party time).
(Entry to Dreamworld is not included.)
As we finished up at the end of the day, tired and happy, I couldn’t help but feel so grateful. Grateful for nine years of our girl, for her friendships, and for a day that felt so completely her. Birthdays like this remind me just how quickly time is moving and how important it is to pause and celebrate these moments while we can. This one will stay with us for a long time — a truly special way to mark nine beautiful years.
